επιστολή του Sargint προς τον The Right Honorable Lord Marquis of Carmarthen, Principal Secretary of State, St. James’s London, στην οποία αναφέρει:
… in regard to the trade carried on by His Majesty’s Subjects in salt fish and find in those Islands as well as this, that the trifling quantity of fish consisting only in herrings, and bacalao it all comes here on Greek and Venetian bottoms from Leghorn, Naples, Venice, and other ports of the Mediterranean, in small quantities owing to the little consumption the Greeks make…
