Abstract:

Επιστολή του Φορέστη προς τον Lord Harrowby (Κέρκυρα 10 Ιουλίου 1804) με την οποία αναφέρεται σε διάφορα θέματα που αφορούν την πτώση του Σουλίου και τα όσα επακολούθησαν της πτώσης ενώ αναφέρεται και στις φιλικές σχέσεις των Άγγλων με τον Αλή Πασά των Ιωαννίνων. Συγκεκριμένα γράφει:
I beg leave to lay before Your Lordship those particulars, and have only to remark that Ali Visier of Yanina appears to be much attached to our cause; he has at all times shown the greatest distinction to all English gentlemen who have had occasion to travel through correspondence with Lord Nelson and myself, and assures us of his determination to repel any attack which may be made on his territory by the common enemy: and from the power of this Visier I do not think it would be impolitick to keep any good terms with him; however as I am unacquainted with the political motives of the Russian Plenipotentiary in assisting those Agas against him, and sewing dissension in that extensive tract of country. I shall forbear from making any observation; leaving it to Your Lordships superior judgment to decide. …
