Abstract:

Επιστολή (Αρ.12) του Φορέστη (Κέρκυρα 4 Απριλίου 1807) προς τον The Right Honorable Lord Viscount Howick His Majesty’s Principal Secretary of State for the Foreign Department με την οποία τον ενημερώνει για τα όσα διαδραματίζονται στην Ήπειρο με επικεφαλής τον Αλή Πασά. Κάνει αναφορά στις προτάσεις των Γάλλων να τον βοηθήσουν έτσι ώστε να καταστεί ο ίδιος βασιλιάς της Ηπείρου.
Abstract: A force of 6.000 men, mostly irregulars, is forming at Corfu to repel Ali Pacha’s intended attack, and destined to act offensively in His territories. The spirit of the Albanian Greeks against Ali Pacha, and the dissensions between Him and the pachas of Scutari and Novella cannot fail to operate in favour of this force.
On a rumour of the capture of Constantinople by the combined forces, the populace at Corfu gave strong proofs of their joy on the occasion. Mr Foresti is very serious of receiving instructions from His Majesty’s Government for the regulation of his conduct.
