Abstract:

Επιστολή (Αρ.18) του Φορέστη (Κέρκυρα 14 Μαΐου 1807) προς τον The Right Honorable Lord Viscount Howick His Majesty’s Principal Secretary of State for the Foreign Department με την οποία τον ενημερώνει για τις δυσκολίες που αντιμετωπίζει ο ρωσικός στόλος λόγω του αποκλεισμού του από τα Στενά.
Abstract: the closing of the passage of the Dardanelles against the Russians is very prejudicial to their interest in this quarter. Much blame is now attached to those who planned the expedition to force it originally and it is wondered that a large body of English troops were note sent, or are not still sent, to destroy the Turkish castles on its shores. Much apprehension is entertained for the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. Much misrepresentation relative to the operations of Sir J. Duckworth in the Levant have been forwarded to St. Petersburg. Mr. Foresti has sent there Sir. J. Duckworth’s report as well as that of Mr. Arbuthurt on the subject, in order to do away any bad impressions.
